The project
1 . What is Aánú?
WHAT?
Aánú is a Yorùbá word whose direct translation is compassion/sympathy depending on the context.
Communication has always been important for me. It is the basis of any healthy relationship. But there are many ways to communicate. Here, I am referring to qualitative communication: the kind of exchange that requires empathy, patience, listening to the other. The idea of being able to exchange and discuss with someone who cares.
Indeed, there is a virtuous circle between the fact that some exchanges do not leave us indifferent, push us to do an introspection and the fact that we are ready to have some discussions once we have taken the time to think calmly about our opinion on the matter.
We are seven billion on this Earth. As each of us has experienced life in a specific way, we tend to have different reactions to similar situations. It is always interesting to exchange our points of view on these situations.
Sometimes, due to a lack of communication or shyness, we do not dare to talk about certain subjects, whereas often, the person with whom we wish to exchange on this subject, has been in the same situation as us - or at least - can give us another point of view.
2 . Where did it start?

WHERE?
This is how Aánú project was born. Why not gather several people around a specific theme. It is already done, we have not invented anything.
But here, it is not only about debating about a theme, it's about the participants really relating their personal experiences while knowing that they will not be judged. One thing is to express oneself, to give one's opinion, but I think there can be something liberating, soothing, about the way it is done.
So, as you might have guessed, through this project, we will tackle different topics and treat them in the way we think is most appropriate so that it will be quite interactive and enriching for both the people who participate in the project and those who read it.
